Title: My "Distinguished" Career at Iowa

Speaker: Ruth Bentler, PhD, 2025–2026 CSD Distinguished Alumna

The presentation will briefly overview nearly 50 years of effort and distinguished research, with a shout-out to those exceptional/distinguished people in my world.

Dr. Ruth Bentler is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Iowa. She earned her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from the same institution. With over 40 years of experience, Dr. Bentler is renowned for her expertise in hearing aid technology and adult aural rehabilitation. She joined the University of Iowa faculty in 1987 after 15 years in clinical audiology. Dr. Bentler has significantly contributed to research on hearing aid amplification and patient-centered care, making her a leading authority in the field.

Attendees are encouraged to join in person in HSAB 2004. Seating is limited (first-come, first-served, ~50 seats), but the seminar will also be available via Zoom.
