Add to your skillset as a future speech-language pathologist the ability to fully meet the needs of all clients. A new and unique certificate at Iowa helps you do just that.

About one quarter of American households use a language other than English, and this number is predicted to rise. To help clinicians meet the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse clients, Iowa offers a unique graduate certificate program to provide academic and clinical training to prepare students for assessment and intervention with multilingual and multicultural clients. The program emphasizes birth-to-18 populations and school-based practice.

There is no requirement that students have proficiency in a second language to complete this certificate.

Students seeking this certificate must be concurrently enrolled and in good standing in either the SLP or AuD graduate program.
