Title: The Kosovo Program

For the last 3-4 years, our department has been fostering a collaboration with SLPs in Kosovo, a country with a still-developing healthcare system. Through the Insistuti Kosovar për Logopedi, we have the unique opportunity to directly collaborate with the Kosovan SLPs in increasing access to education and resources, administering services, and advocating for our services in their emerging systems. This spring was the second year that our department has sponsored a week-long service trip for our clinical graduate students in both the AuD and MS-SLP programs to collaborate and learn with the Kosovan SLPs, conduct assessments in several settings, and engage in education and advocacy with several community and political groups in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. Join us for highlights from the past year’s trip, a preview of the upcoming year’s plan, and a Q & A with SLP and AuD students who attended the trip.
