Biography

Chia-Hsin Wu joined the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders PhD program in Fall 2024 at the University of Iowa. She earned her BS in Nursing from National Yang-Ming University and her MS in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences in Taiwan. Prior to joining the PhD program at Iowa, she worked as a speech-language pathologist in Taiwan.

She works with Eric J. Hunter in the Voice Biomechanics and Acoustics Laboratory (V-BAL). Her current research focuses on voice acoustics and voice production. She is interested in how speakers modify their voices across different speech tasks and how acoustic measures can be used to characterize changes in voice production.
