Biography
Erich Luschei, Ph.D., is a Professor Emeritus in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department at the University of Iowa. He earned his Ph.D. in neurophysiology and specialized in oral motor control research. Dr. Luschei developed the Iowa Oral Performance Instrument (IOPI) in 1992, which has been widely used in clinical settings. He founded IOPI Medical LLC in 2001 to further advance this technology. Throughout his career, Dr. Luschei has been recognized for his contributions to the field and his dedication to improving speech and swallowing functions.
