Biography

Dr. J. Bruce Tomblin is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Iowa. He is a renowned expert in the epidemiology and genetics of developmental language disorders (DLD). Dr. Tomblin earned his Ph.D. in Communication Disorders from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and has held faculty positions at Syracuse University and SUNY Upstate Medical Center before joining the University of Iowa in 1972. His research has significantly advanced the understanding of DLD, and he has received numerous awards, including the ASHA Honors and the Callier Prize in Communication Disorders.
