Katherine Kingsbury

Biography
Katie is an AuD/PhD student in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department. She started in the audiology program in the fall of 2023 and started her PhD in the fall of 2025. She earned her B.S. in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Miami University, where she completed research under the mentorship of Dr. Aaron Shield of Miami University in his Sign Language and Autism at Miami Lab.
Katie works under the mentorship of Beth Walker in the Pediatric Audiology and Language Lab. Her current research focuses on investigating audiometric thresholds in children with tympanostomy tubes. Her research interests center on translational research and bridging service delivery gaps for children with hearing aids.
Outside of research, Katie enjoys running, doing crafts, and traveling.
