Wenling started the PhD program at Iowa in Fall 2026. She completed her master's degree in medical technology at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China. She was also a visiting scholar at Macquarie University in Australia before joining the PhD program.

Wenling is part of the Hearing Aid and Aging Research Lab, where she works with her mentor, Yu-Hsiang Wu. Her research interests focus on understanding the challenges older adults experience with hearing aids and developing personalized rehabilitation and support strategies to help them achieve better outcomes and sustained hearing aid use.

Away from academics, she enjoys seeing musicals, hiking, and doing puzzles.
