Krista Davidson, Clinical Associate Professor, has an additional title: ASHA Innovator.

She was tapped for the honor by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association's 2023 Board of Directors President Robert Augustine, based on a nomination from Krista's fellow clinical faculty member, Louise Pinkerton.

Krista was cited for her work in Augmentative and Alternative Communication. Even as an undergraduate student, Krista says she was intrigued by what AAC could offer to individuals with disabilities.

"I found technology, problem-solving, and defying conventions a winning combination for my future career," she said, adding that as a clinical educator, she encourages the students on her clinical team to reach for innovative, resourceful ways to meet clients' communication needs.
