Ingo R. Titze, PhD, Professor Emeritus, is winner of the 2024 Gold Medal from the Acoustical Society of America.

The prestigious Gold Medal is presented annually to an individual whose contributions to the field of acoustics and to the Acoustical Society have been unusually distinguished.

The award presentation is set for May 15, 2024, in Ottawa.

"I proudly call myself a Hawkeye and will never forget the unbelievable professional lift I received from the Department of Communication Science and Disorders," he said. "I am most appreciative of faculty and students who supported and challenged me at Iowa for 40 years."

Among the many students who benefited from his mentorship, Dr. Titze directed the dissertation work of current CSD Chair, Eric Hunter, PhD.
