The research goal in the Neurophysiology Lab is to understand fundamental mechanisms of phonatory control of pitch, intensity, voicing and register, in order that improved intervention strategies to treat voice disorders can ultimately be developed.

The lab is equipped to obtain measures laryngeal muscle activity (via electromyography), laryngeal movement (videoendoscopy), aerodynamics (tracheal puncture, Rothenberg mask), and acoustics.
