Philip Combiths, PhD, CSD Assistant Professor, and a team of undergraduates interested in careers in Communication Sciences and Disorders have joined forces with the Johnson County Neighborhood Centers. The win-win partnership helps teachers at the Center discern if a child needs speech-language therapy services or if their speech is indicative of a multi-language environment. At the same time, Iowa students gain valuable experiences within their fields of interest and practical skills about how research projects are planned and executed.
