Charlotte Hilker, a CSD graduate student in the MA-SLP program, was selected for a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Award for Kosovo.  The grant runs from October 2023 to June 2024. Charlotte has reached out to Kosovo's equivalent of ASHA about observing SLPs in the country to see what she can learn about speech-language pathology in this southeastern European country.

"This is a very exciting opportunity," said said. "The International Programs people at Iowa told me I'm the first person in our department to ever get a Fulbright teaching grant!"

In addition to this honor, she won the 2023 Frances J. Laven service award from the Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders, which carries a monetary award.
