Mukunda Kantemneni, long-time colleague in the Department of Otolaryngology, died August 30, 2023, following a battle with cancer. After earlier being diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis which resulted in deafness, Mukunda chose to give back to the same community that supported him, working as a computer programmer in Otolaryngology for many years.

Mukunda and his family's generosity is reflected in their decision to direct memorial contributions to the Communication Sciences and Disorders Graduate Student Support Fund, University of Iowa Center for Advancement, P.O.
