Three of the University of Iowa’s top-ranked and most popular programs will share a state-of-the-art building as they continue to grow and find more ways to serve residents of Iowa and beyond.

After 50 years in the Wendell Johnson Speech and Hearing Center, the UI Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic and the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders have relocated to the Health Sciences Academic Building.

Eleven undergraduate students participate in internships abroad in summer 2026, thanks to support from the Dr. Ken Magid Scholarship. The fund was established by the late Linda Baker (BA English ’68) in memory of her former mentor, author and child behaviorist Dr. Kenneth Magid.
