Deepthi Crasta joined CSD as a doctoral student in Fall 2023. Before coming to Iowa, she completed a bachelor's in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (BASLP) in 2018 from Father Muller College of Speech and Hearing, Mangalore University, India, and a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (MSc SLP) in 2020 from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Mangalore. Immediately prior to joining UIowa, Deepthi worked as a clinical supervisor and instructor at a private teaching hospital (AJ Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre) in India. She is under the mentorship of Mili Kuruvilla-Dugdale.

Away from academic pursuits, she enjoys ballroom dancing, exercising, and exploring different cuisines. Deepthi's hometown is Mangalore in the state of Karnataka, India.
